2.5 acres/10000 m² of land in superb coastal location on the Sheep’s Head peninsula, West Cork, with stunning uninterrupted sea and mountain views.
The land slopes downhill towards the coast and consists of two grass fields. It is bordered by traditional dry stone walls, and there is a fenced off area which contains some shrubs and small trees.
There is a hand built hexagonal wooden turf roofed cabin, approximately 20 m², which is completely off-grid, and has not been occupied for several years. There are also some stone ruins of a cottage and outbuildings on the land.
A rainwater harvesting system was set up in the past and could be reinstated. There is also a stream adjacent to the land that would provide water for irrigation.
The registered right of way to the land from the public road is currently suitable for pedestrian access only and is approximately 200 metres long. Vehicle parking space is adjacent to the public road. Vehicular access could be installed.
There is a small village 7 km away which has a primary school, post office, pubs, restaurant, country market and a safe swimming area/pier. The beautiful seaside market town of Bantry is 25 km distant and has a hospital, cinema, several schools, many restaurants and pubs, and excellent shopping facilities. It also hosts internationally renowned music and literary festivals.
The Sheep’s Head Way long distance walking route is close by and easily accessible from the site.
