An absolutely unique and naturally beautiful plot of land near to Comares, Málaga in Southern Spain, with unlimited water, from an all year round spring, and a one room rustic wooden cabin.

Due to family commitments in the UK we’re looking to sell our secluded, completely off-grid finca set in 4 acres / 16000 square meters of land, just one hour from Málaga airport, in the Axarquia region of Southern Spain.

The finca consists of 3 parcels of land, each with it’s own Escritura / Deeds. The taxes have all been paid.

The land is classified as ‘Rústica’, which means that, at the moment, you can’t build a permanent brick / concrete structure on it.
However 6 years ago I built a one room wooden cabin (6m x 4.5m) and an adjoining covered outside living area / terrace and a detached bathroom / shower room with compost toilet.

It’s all set up for instant ‘off-grid’ living. There’s a water deposit by the spring and a pump and the pipework set up to transfer the water from the spring to the tank above the cabin.
There are no utility bills to pay. It has its own water and electricity is generated by solar panels.

We’ve lived ‘off-grid’ on this land for over 10 years now, in a tent, a camper, a caravan, a yurt and, for the last few years, in the cabin itself.

Within the 4 Acres / 16000 square metres of grounds, which are steep in places, there are various different areas:

The main plot with the cabin etc on it. Surrounded by large mature olive trees.

100 metres away, along the track, there’s a big open flat area with incredible mountain views.

An area below the cabin with the spring, 2 water deposits, 2 big old avocado trees, several old stone terraces, extensive allotment areas, an orange and lemon orchard and a massive old carob tree.

There are vines, almond, olives, nísperos with unlimited irrigation water. The surrounding views are absolutely stunning.

We’ve left a lot of the land natural / wild. Finca La Umbría has a real back to the land feel to the place.

Access is via a mile long dirt track…most of which is regularly well maintained…the last section is a little challenging and although it is possible to get in or out with a regular vehicle it would be more reliable to have the use of a 4 x 4.

Although there are friendly small communities close by, there are no near neighbours and it’s pretty much surrounded by avocado and mango plantations and olive and almond trees.
The nearest town, Comares, which is 10 minutes away, offers 4 bars, 2 hotels, a supermarket and a tobacconist /estanco. Whilst the coast and a much bigger market town is 30-40 minutes away.

Finca La Umbria would make an awesome cosy family home or it could be developed as an off grid retreat, an “under the radar” glamping / wild camping scene or venue for workshops / yoga etc or just somewhere fabulous to live.

There’s a great mobile phone and 3g/4g signal as well as High Speed Broadband, which is available from a nearby ‘line of sight’ antenna from RioSat, a local internet provider.
