Situated in the heart of the beautiful Alpujarras, Andalucia is a Cortijo like no
other in the area. It was named Cortijo Atalaya because it sits on a mountain
top boasting 180-degree views of the surrounding area.

The Cortijo is built on 130m2 and comes with:

There is a big patio surrounding the entrance that is covered with a waterproof
roof which allows you to enjoy the picturesque views all year around.
The house is equipped with a solar water heater that can be converted to gas
on those cloudy days. There is also city electricity (but it can easily be
converted to solar) and a wood stove. There are three sources of water so you
will always be able to enjoy fresh drinkable water that comes directly from the
mountain, even in the summer months.
This Cortijo is isolated with no neighbors, however it is easily accessible
because it has its own private driveway and entrance directly from the main

Just outside the patio is a beautiful stairway leading down to a nice child friendly
swimming pool. Alongside the swimming pool is a stone storage building about
4m2, that can be used as an outdoor pantry or for extra storage.
Also included is a separate building of aprox. 50 m2which is currently divided
into two separate living spaces. One of the spaces has a built-in bathroom with
shower and a fully fitted kitchen. This is where we live as family of 4 while
renting the main house on AirBnB. In fact, the property comes with a tourism
license. The other space has a wood burning stove and is currently used as a
play area. Recently, we have built elegant wooden doors with big windows to
let in lots of light.
Attached to this building is a fully enclosed workshop with lights, windows and
electricity which is used as a carpentry workshop and houses all the tools.
Alongside the workshop is another outdoor storage unit that is enclosed on 3
sides with a roof to protect from the rain and the sun.

With 2.6 hectares (6.4 acres), the land is filled with organic grown of almond and olive trees.
Additionally, you can find many fruit trees such as: walnut, pear, orange, apple,
mandarin, peach, cherry, mulberry and figs. There are also many flat and open
terraces to have a garden or to do whatever your imagination allows. Recently
built is a chicken coop that now host 9 chickens and 1 rooster. There are 3
compost toilets built on the land and a caravan that can host a couple or a small
family of 3.
The land is served with a piping watering system and also has a natural pond
with many frogs in it.

Words can’t describe the views and the abundance of this land of great
potential. For instance, we were planning to build a climbing area given the
giant natural climbing rock that is within the land.
