Finca La Umbria – Off grid Weekend /  Holiday / Leisure / Rustic Plot

Due to commitments in the UK we’re looking to sell Finca La Umbría – our  secluded plot of 4 Acres / 16,000 M2 of rustic land, just one hour from Málaga airport, in the Axarquia region of Southern Spain.

An important feature is that the land has a spring, which provides almost unlimited water all year round.

In the fifteen years that I’ve owned this land I’ve lived there regularly in a tent, a camper, a caravan, a yurt and a one room wooden cabin / casita de aperos, (6m x 4.5m) that I built about 10 years ago, with no formal planning permission – as it not a brick/concrete permanent structure.

The cabin has 3 X 200 watt solar panels for power, a woodburning cooker and there is an unfinished exterior detached wooden bathroom, which is fed from water pumped up from the spring, There is also an unfinished block built outside kitchen area.

The local Town Hall / Ayuntamiento is completely aware of the cabin.

Although mostly sloped and terraced  – the land offers 2 large flat areas – one of which has the cabin on it and the other that is big enough to park up a couple of campers,  caravans or a pair of yurts or teepees, for example.

Below the cabin is the spring and an old stone water depósito / alberqua and an extensive irrigation piping system.

On either side of the spring there are several old stone-walled terraces where orange, lemon, tangerine and níspero trees flourish – alongside a couple of big old avocado trees. There are numerous places where you can grow vegetables etc.

On the remainder of the land, which is steep in places; there are many olive and almond trees.

The surrounding mountain and river valley views are absolutely stunning.

Reliable Broadband can be obtained from a nearby “line of sight” antenna which transmits high speed, unlimited Internet from RioSat, the local provider.

There is already an Internet receiver and WIFI router set up and my old Broadband account could easily be reactivated.

There is also a great phone/4G signal over all the plot

Access is via a kilometer long dirt track..most of which is regularly well maintained. Although a little steep in places a van/camper can get in and out with no problem.

Although there are friendly small communities close by there are no near neighbours and it’s pretty much surrounded by avocado and mango plantations, lemon orchards and olive and almond trees.

The nearest town, Comares, is 10 -15 minutes away and offers 4 bars, 2 hotels, a supermarket and a tobacconist /estanco. Whilst the coast and the much bigger market town of Velez Malaga is 30-40 minutes away.

I have registered deeds for the land and all the taxes have been paid.

This land has so much potential for the right person/family, who wanted an ‘Off-grid Spanish dream’ or a even a few  friends or families buying it together for a holiday / leisure / weekend hang out / park up plot.
